Heavy foot traffic had left an aging stairway inside a poultry processing facility in Springdale, Arkansas slippery and damaged. The worn surfaces had become a major slip-and-fall risk, while continued use threatened further deterioration. With GMP expectations and employee safety at stake, the facility needed a durable, non-slip upgrade without a prolonged shutdown.

Tufco restored 500 sq ft with Tufcrete and stainless steel riser plates. Installed by our own crews, the complete stairway system was finished in just 2 days, with no drain work required.

The Solution

Tufco’s own W-2 crews — no subcontractors, no “certified installers” — prepared the damaged stair treads and installed a slip-resistant Tufcrete surface across the walking areas. Extremely durable stainless steel riser plates were fitted to protect the vertical faces from impact and the wear of constant foot traffic.

The finished system delivers reliable traction underfoot and durable stainless protection where the stairs had been vulnerable to continued damage. The result is a safer, hard-wearing stairway built for poultry processing operations and their GMP and workplace safety priorities — completed in 2 days, start to finish.
