CASE STUDY · SEAFOOD PROCESSING

From Porous Concrete to a Floor That Drains Clean.

Seafood Processing Facility — Baton Rouge, Louisiana

About This Project

Old concrete had worn down to exposed aggregate across 1,500 sq ft at a seafood processing facility in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. The porous surface made thorough cleaning impossible. Worse, the floor did not slope to the existing drains, leaving standing puddles and bacteria harborage points. The facility needed a cleanable surface that supported SQF compliance.

Tufco replaced the unfit surface with 1,500 sq ft of impervious epoxy flooring and rebuilt the floor profile to move wash water to the existing drains — installed by our own crews with all work completed in just 2 days. No drain work was required.

The Solution

Tufco’s own W-2 crews — no subcontractors, no “certified installers” — mechanically prepared the old concrete, corrected the floor slope, and installed 1,500 sq ft of Epoxy Flooring. The existing drains remained in place, with no drain work required.

The result is an impervious floor that holds up to the harshest detergents. Proper slope to the drains guarantees no puddling, eliminating bacteria harborage points and creating the cleanable surface needed to support SQF compliance. All work was completed in 2 days, start to finish.

One crew. One warranty. Zero excuses.
